Mentoring Matters

Mentoring matters is a mentoring program that allows mentor matches to meet at school. Mentoring Matters pairs elementary school students in need with caring adult mentors in order to build long-term, one-to-one relationships that have lasting impacts with a primary focus on EDUCATION.

School-based visits normally happen during lunch time or a student’s elective/enhancement classes.  Examples of School Based activities include:

  • Practicing math/Reading Worksheets
  • Reading books together
  • Playing games that build math/reading comprehension skills
  • Working on the computer together in the library
  • Assisting student with research for a term paper
  • Helping student study for test/exams
  • Sit and talk for a while
